Electrical and Power Management System Troubleshooting

Power conservation and management is an integral part of vessel's operations which uses best practices and management guidelines to optimise vessel's power consumption. Its core is a Power Management System, an automated vessel's subsystem, required to ensure reliable, continuous and efficient power supply for the vessel. PMS key tasks are following:

  1. Cuts in/out the generators as a respond to load increase/decrease
  2. Gradually loads/unloads generator alternator sets, so as to minimise thermal and frictional stresses
  3. Performs load sharing among the generators, symmetrically or asymmetrically, depending on settings
